Something Fresh

In this world of sandwiches and pre-packaged meals, something cool in refreshing is a nice change. I often feel that way about meals in themselves. I typically want at least one cold component to a hot meal. With school lunches, salads are an easy, affordable, and yummy option. Sporadically placed I think they totally have a spot within the routine. Depending on the child, maybe once a week, maybe once a month. But, anything varied is a positive in my book. I just don't want them getting the same thing everyday. I don't think many people want that. But add in a few fun sides/staples, like chips and salsa or cheese and crackers, and a sweet element like sliced mango and it's a healthy lunch.
